Preamble
A total of 3150km 1st and 2nd category rivers flow through La Haute-Loire, of which 2800km wild and protected of the first category, running through the most contrasting scenery (gorges and plains). 24 types of fish await to trifle with the fisherman : from the rare salmon (temporarily protected specie), to the leaping trout and the lively bleak.
An unpolluted river runs through Brioude, at the gateway of the Gorges du Haut-Allier. The Chevallier and Robert ponds near Brioude, as well as a section of the Allier, in between Tapon and Allevier, are managed by “la Société de Pêche” of Brioude. You do not have to go far from the hotel to fish. The hotel borders directly at the river Dordogne where you can start your fishing experience immediately
